What's New: Stop back often for the latest news...

Greetings, MASFAA Colleagues!

Susan SwisherWelcome to the MASFAA website. I am truly honored to be serving at your MASFAA President for the 2015-2016 year.

The 2015-2016 Executive Council met last August to kick off the planning for the year. I have asked the Executive Council to focus on the three main areas identified in the Mission Statement, which includes Training and Professional Development, Advocacy and Enhanced Communication and Coordination. In order for MASFAA to be successful in these areas, we rely on the support of our membership. The heart of that support is our committee work and I do hope that you will consider volunteering.

We are excited about the training events for the upcoming year, for which and planning is underway. We will be holding the Summer Institute and Leadership Symposium on June 13 -17 at Illinois State University in Bloomington, IL. Next year's MASFAA Conference will be held in Kansas City, MO, October 2-5, 2016. Our conference theme, "Fountains of Knowledge" promises to be an exciting conference that not only will provide you with the training and professional development opportunities, but a little fun along the way. To stay up to date on these events and other happenings within our association, be sure to follow our MASFAA Moments Blog where new information is posted on a weekly basis.

MASFAA will continue to advocate as an association on topics of interest to financial aid professionals, students and parents drawing on the strength of our MASFAA region schools. Our Hill visits have been a success in the past and we will continue those visits to share the concerns of MASFAA membership with our legislators.

I am very fortunate to be able to work with a great group of colleagues representing the Executive Council as we embark on year two of our Strategic Plan. I welcome your feedback and look forward to meeting you all.

Susan Swisher
MASFAA President
