Federal Issues Portal

Index

Federal Issues Portal
This Portal is designed to allow the membership access to important websites that provide information on several levels on federal issues. The U.S. Department of Education has done an excellent job of providing information on the Web that is extremely helpful with financial aid administration. However, the membership will find this web site helpful because it allows for quick entry into other key web sites and portals. The web site will become more useful as the membership seeks information on reauthorization and the positions key higher education organizations have taken. A live Portal demonstration is on the agenda for the Fall October Conference.

How to Use The Portal
The Portal will allow you access to major higher education web sites. You will be able to link to the U.S. Department of Education, NASFAA, U.S. Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives. The membership will be able to locate legislative representatives and view pending higher education legislation. The Reauthorization process is complex and the Portal can assist you in connecting to resources that may help to acquaint you with the process and show you how to become more involved in the legislative debate and process. The Portal is being constantly updated and new items added to make the site more informative and user-friendly.
