Welcome to a new academic year! As campuses across the Midwest come alive with the start of the 2025–26 year, we are reminded of why our work matters: supporting students as they pursue their education and future goals.

While you’re busy welcoming students back and preparing for what lies ahead, I encourage you to take a moment to register for our MASFAA Annual Conference in St. Charles, MO, October 12–15. Be sure to secure your spot before the early bird deadline on September 5—you won’t want to miss this year’s sessions and networking opportunities.

Looking forward, we are already preparing for the 2026–27 aid year. As we anticipate receiving ISIRs this fall, we know significant changes are coming with the FAFSA, the Federal Pell Grant formula, and new guidance from negotiated rulemaking. These shifts will once again challenge us to adapt quickly, while ensuring our students continue to receive the support they need. At the same time, many of us are working to help students who are losing access to key loan programs, and your dedication in these difficult moments is vital.

MASFAA will continue to be a source of information, collaboration, and strength as we navigate these changes together. I remain committed to supporting you and encourage you to lean on this professional community throughout the year.
